Early, effective CPR performed by a bystander  greatly increases a Heart Attack victim’s chances for survival.

Are you Prepared?

If  someone you loved were to have a heart attack today, would you know what to do?

Sure! We all know to call 9-1-1 and activate our local Emergency Medical Services. But did you know that a typical EMS response time is 8 minutes and more rural citizens may have even longer  response times? Time is heart muscle and the longer it takes for your EMS provider to get to you, the more damage can be done to your loved ones heart. Did you know that your training in an American Heart Association approved course may help slow the long term effects of a heart attack and gain your EMS responders precious time to help your loved one?

According to The American Heart Association website, brain damage can start in as little as 4 to 6 minutes in a patient who has suffered a heart attack and where circulation of blood has been stopped. Without a bystander providing CPR, a victim’s chances of survival are reduced by 7 to 10 % EVERY MINUTE. The initiation of bystander CPR and the prompt, correct, use of an AED can increase the chances of survival to 48 to 74%. Are you prepared?
